Greg Mingo is our Westchester Community Leader who spent more than 40 years in prison. “If we believe in second chances and we believe in rehabilitation, then we need to pass Fair & Timely Parole. Otherwise, we’re subverting the whole purpose of the system.”

We closed out the event with a call to action. Constituents of Senate Majority Leader @AndreaSCousins signed postcards urging her to let the democratic process move forward and pass parole justice.

“Back when I was arrested, I had four children. There was no knowledge of adverse childhood experiences at the time. There was no understanding of the trauma they were enduring at the time. That’s what mass incarceration does.” - RAPP Director Jose Saldana

NOW: We’re in Senate Majority Leader @AndreaSCousins’ district with our friends @Nycd16Indivis for a screening of “The Interview” and a discussion on the urgent need to pass the Elder Parole and Fair & Timely Parole bills. It’s long past time to pass parole justice.

WE'RE GETTING STARTED: #CommunitiesNotCages is marching through the halls of Albany led by an all-women band honoring incarcerated moms and moms of incarcerated children.

We're calling for the passage of the Second Look, Earned Time and Eliminate Mandatory Minimums Act.
