Attica Remembrance Community Day with Decarcerate the Hudson Valley

August 2, 2022 @ 8:00 am - 5:00 pm

From Decarcerate the Hudson Valley:

Decarcerate the Hudson Valley in its existence since 2020 is made up of Organizations across the Hudson Valley that came together under one umbrella to decarcerate prisons all across New York State. During the legislative session, organizers have been working diligently to pass crucial prison reforms to further the movement of Prisoner Liberation. The fight for prison liberation began long before 2020 began with one crucial event: the political occupation of Attica in 1971. It is important that we remember, celebrate, educate and build community during the week of remembrance of the political occupation of Attica (9/9-9/13) as we collectively further the movement for prison abolition.
