Alternatives to Violence Workshop
February 7 @ 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
Would you like to become a conflict resolution workshop facilitator?
The Alternatives to Violence Project (AVP) is seeking facilitators to fill the growing need for the program.
AVP is a volunteer group that provides conflict resolution workshops for community groups, youth and prison inmates.
Last June we held our first conflict resolution workshop for the women at the Westchester County Jail and in August we held the first conflict resolution workshop at Taconic Women’s Prison in Bedford Hills.
We are looking for help in bringing conflict resolution skills to these women.
There are no special qualifications for becoming an AVP facilitator. It just involves taking three weekend workshops, A Basic Conflict Resolution Workshop, an Advanced Conflict Resolution Workshop and a Training for Facilitators Workshop. The first step is to register for an AVP Basic Workshop.
The next Basic Workshop will be held on February 7-9 at Purchase Quaker Meetinghouse at 4455 Purchase Street in Purchase, NY 10577. A flyer is attached.
