The Ossining Chapter of the NAACP is inviting Manuel Gomez to speak at the Ossining Library on September 18th at 7pm.
Mr. Gomez is featured in the recently released film Crime + Punishment which explores the issue of illegal quotas in the NYPD that target youth of color. He now works as a people’s private investigator to free people who have been wrongly accused and arrested. He wants to share with us his approach to police, DA and elected officials accountability on September 18th. The film Crime + Punishment will not be shown that evening but is available on Hulu and highly recommended to see before you come to the September 18th public presentation:

A Community Summit On Judicial Misconduct
Guest Speaker: Manuel Gomez The People Private Investigator.
Manual Gomez, 50, grew up in the Bronx during the 1970s where he witnessed police injustice and misconduct which led him to think that maybe if he became a policeman he could make a difference, so that in 1999 after, a tour in Iraq, Manuel Gomez became a New York city Police officer. In 2011 he retired and joined forces with Frank Serpico, a former NYPD officer who turned into a whistleblower, depicted by Al Pacino in the 1973 Hollywood classic SERPICO, to create the GOMEZ- SERPICO PLAN.
Mr. Gomez has committed himself to helping the wrongly accused to obtain justice and to be freed from jails and prisons. His goal is to present his plan to the state legislature requesting that they enact laws to hold police officers, district attorneys and elected official accountable for their criminal acts, a/k/a misconducts.
