Voter Empowerment Workshop

September 20, 2018 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

New York State consistently ranks as one of the lowest in the nation for voter turnout.  In the November 2016 election, we had the 8th lowest turnout in the country.

We are a collaboration of concerned citizens and community organizations and are reaching out to you with the goal of increasing voter turnout in Westchester County.  Our success in addressing local issues depends on electing candidates who represent the interests of the people. Your involvement is critical in order to do so.

The nonprofit group, New York Civic Engagement Table in partnership with Citizen Action of New York (CANY) will facilitate a two-part voter turnout/civic engagement workshop on September 20 and 27, 2018 from 7-9 pm at the Theodore Young Community Center 32 Manhattan Avenue, White Plains, NY 10607 (located in Greenburgh).

Your participation in this effort is crucial in order to reach discouraged and disaffected voters, and we look forward to collaborating with you.  The trainings intend to create common language around voting and to provide ideas in sync with individual communities.  Sessions will be very interactive, and attendees will participate in conversations about actions you can take to effectively build community, trust and engagement.

Please share this information, including the attached flyer,  widely in your community.
