Our panel includes…

Tracy Hyter-Suffern, Co-chief of the Marten Band on Staten Island (Ramapo Lenape) and current Executive Director at National Jazz Museum in Harlem. Ms. Hyter-Suffern has extensive experience as an administrator and executive director of nonprofit organizations. She has worked to advance groups, foundations and causes elevating the arts, POC, women, and indigenous peoples. 

Twila Cassadore, cultural preservationist (San Carlos Apache), a cast member from Gather, who has been working with San Carlos Apache, White Mountain Apache, and Yavapai peoples for the past 25 years, conducting interviews with elders to bring information back into the community to address health and social problems. With the Western Apache Diet Project, Twila has documented the importance of foods like grass seeds and acorn seeds to the diets of Apaches before people were moved onto reservations and became reliant on rations, and later, commodities.

Clayton Harvey, agriculturalist and educator (White Mountain Apache), a cast member from Gather, has been working integrally with the White Mountain Apache community to build safe and healthy farming systems, and run educational and preventative care workshops to encourage healthy eating amongst Apaches.

Tina Volz-Bongar, is a member of United For Clean Energy (U4CE), Resist Spectra (pipeline), and a Climate Reality Leader trained by Al Gore. Tina lives in Peekskill, NY, an environmental justice community, and is working on an initiative to stop Holtec, the company decommissioning Indian Point, from dumping 1M gallons of tritiated water in the Hudson River.
