Save the Date: Dance for Justice!

Admission Tickets

“Dance for Justice” is set to take place on Friday, December 5, 2014 in Port Chester, NY. We have reserved St. Peters Church located at 19 Smith Street in Port Chester. It is a large, beautiful church and can comfortably hold about 200 people and is frequently used for community events.

“Dance for Justice” is a dynamic community building project that supports local social justice and promotes alliances amongst diverse communities of color.  Tickets are $10 for students and $20 for adults. We will be partnering with the Victory Bus Project, which is led by local organizer Jalal Sabur. The Victory Bus Project brings families from lower Westchester County (primarily Yonkers and Mount Vernon) and New York City to visit their loved ones in prisons in the Hudson Valley. The project also provides fresh, locally grown produce to the families who get a ride to visit their loved ones. This project connects food justice to prison reform, as many of the same low-income communities that face the highest rates of imprisonment also face the highest rates of deadly food related illness, including diabetes and high blood pressure.   Cosponsors include: Hudson Valley Community Coalition, a local coalition which works for just immigration reform, and CommunityGovernance and Development Council, a Yonkers community-based organization.   WESPAC is on the front lines every day, on numerous struggles. “Dance for Justice” is going to be a celebration for all those who fight for justice everyday. #D4J
