Stop Gender Related Street Harassment

Did you know that studies show that 80% of women have experienced street harassment and 76% of people have witnessed it? One survey of 93,000 LGBTQ individuals revealed that more than half avoid public spaces because they fear street harassment. Learn how to fight back against hate and how to stand up for your fellow community members. During Women’s History Month, the Westchester County Human Rights Commission is proud to partner with Right To Be (formerly Hollaback!) for this live interactive workshop on how to safely intervene when you witness or experience gender-based street harassment. This interactive workshop aims to empower you with a set of proven tools to reduce the prevalence of street harassment. The workshop will help you practice scenarios so you do not freeze in the moment. Exit polls show 98.8% of attendees leave the workshop feeling like there is at least one thing they can do the next time they witness harassment!
