We need all hands on deck to attend this event even if you haven’t attended any SAPE events before or haven’t been active lately. We have to ramp up our resistance now that Spectra has received a Notice to Proceed from FERC and construction can begin at any time in Buchanan! Our friends at Sane Energy and Clean Air Council have been supportive of SAPE’s efforts for almost two years and we greatly appreciate their commitment to our struggle.
On Friday, the 11th of September, at 6:30pm, the Clean Air Council and Sane Energy Project are joining forces to launch a series of trainings around NY State, based around mapping the fracking infrastructure to organize and strategize our local groups and understanding where we all are in this greater mess we have all committed to working hard to halt, clean up, and rebuild for a clean and equitable future for all life.
Mark your calendar for Friday, September 11th at 6:30 in the evening – we will be having our first training at the First Unitarian Society of Westchester, 25 Jackson Ave. in Hastings-on-Hudson, NY 10706 and would love to see you there!
We will have an update on strategies from member of the amazing local group SAPE (www.sape2016.org) and hear from local resident Dr. Susan Rubin, who is working on an exciting creative campaign!
We will use New York’s collaborative YOU ARE HERE (www.youarehereNYmap.org) map and CAC’s Pennsylvania map (http://wikimapping.net/wikimap/gas.html).If you’re interested in learning more about using maps as an organizing tool, or if you’re wondering how to activate your community around infrastructure issues, this is the training for you!
In addition, we will have a follow-up hands on workshop the following weekend, 19th/20th at another location in Hastings-On-Hudson. Mark your calendar again! (www.tinyurl.com/ARTHastings)
