Friends,
Winston Ross passed away this past Sunday, September 6 at 1:00 am. Winston was a longtime leader of the NAACP in Yonkers and then regionally, Director of WestCOP, member of the board of NY Civil Liberties Union (Westchester, Lower Hudson Valley) and of MLK Institute, activist for low-income housing and no doubt many other things that I don’t know about. He was gentle, savvy, a very important presence in Westchester for decades.
The Journal News should have an obit tomorrow (today?) with details of arrangements. If you would like to write Winston’s wife Rosalind, the address is: 5 Route 202, Yorktown Heights, NY 10598.
