From the Federated Conservationists of Westchester County (FCWC):
We are excited to announce session two of the book discussion series: “Seriously Talking About Food.” This is a four part book group at the White Plains Library to read and discuss issues about sustainable food systems, the impact of climate changes on farming, health and food production. The discussion will be led by FCWC Board President Carol Durst Wertheim, PHD and Food Industry Professional.
If you could please help us spread the word to interested students and adults, it would be greatly appreciated! Below is the flyer. The second session is Sunday, November 19th. Additionally, after you register at this link you will receive an email with the opportunity to collect books loaned to us by Humanities NY- books must be returned on the day of each event.
We also have a small stipend for bus fare for students who may need travel assistance. Snacks and beverages will be included in the discussion. This is a free program.
Note: students don’t have to read the entire book, but are suggested to read at least the first few chapters and dip into a bit before the meeting. No students will be put on the spot to speak aloud.
