Rally to Save Yemen in front of Nita Lowey’s Office

September 27, 2018 @ 8:30 am - 2:00 pm

This truck will be in front of Congresswoman Nita Lowey’s office on Thursday, September 27th from 8:30am to 2pm
222 Mamaroneck Ave, White Plains, NY 10605

We need people to join us this Thursday morning in front of Congresswoman Nita Lowey’s office as we urge her to do the right thing. Yemen is the world’s worst man made humanitarian disaster. In the midst of armed conflict, famine, and the world’s worst cholera outbreak, the United States is sending bombs, while any aid sent to Yemen is not getting to the people most in need due to the ongoing war crimes committed by the Saudi regime, which has recently blocked all of Yemen’s ports from receiving commercial goods. Relief agencies do not have the supplies to address the war-caused famine without commercial imports. The World Food Programme and the World Health Organization are clear: the only way to sustainably address the famine and the cholera outbreak, and save so many lives, is to end the conflict. The U.S. must stop supporting the war on Yemen. House Congressional Resolution 81 would, using the War Powers Act, stop all U.S. support to the Saudi-led alliance and ensure any U.S. presence in Yemen would require the authorization of Congress. Congresswoman Nita Lowey has yet to sign on to this resolution that could potentially save thousands of lives in Yemen.

Please let me know if you can join members of Peace Action NYS and WESPAC this Thursday, September 27th from 8:30am to 2pm located at 222 Mamaroneck Avenue in White Plains. I will be there for the first hour but we need others to help us leaflet and provide a presence. Much appreciated.
