Background: Our New York State Senator Pete Harckham and Assembly member Dana Levenberg’s Save the Hudson bill is on the brink of being passed by the New York State legislature.
Now we need you to show up in Albany, this Tuesday at 12 noon to tell Governor Hochul to stop Holtec from dumping radioactive water into the Hudson and sign the bill!
We have two dozen muni resolutions to stop the dumping! We’re delivering these too!
Governor Hochul still hasn’t taken a stance yet. As you know, Holtec International, the multi-billion dollar nuclear company retiring the Indian Point plant wants to dump its radioactive waste into the River this summer. We need Governor Hochul to stop this from happening.
Over the last three months, we joined in coalition with our allies and passed over two dozen municipal resolutions against the dumping, and gathered thousands of petitions calling on the Governor to step up on this issue. We’ll be delivering those, as well as rallying in the state capitol to ensure our Hudson River and surrounding communities are put over Holtec’s profits.
Now is the time to turnout and make sure our voices are heard – Governor Hochul: No Radioactive Waste in our Hudson River!
Hope to see you in Albany!
