Jane Bloomer and myself will be hosting a public banking strategy session at WESPAC on Tuesday, August 2nd at 12 noon. This session is open to the public but RSVPs are required at [email protected].
The bank can be established at the municipal, county, regional, state or federal level and is a way for struggling municipalities to reduce public debt and debt service costs, maintain local prosperity in economic downturns, reduce municipal banking costs, strengthen the local banking industry, local businesses and more.
Assembly member Sandy Galef has taken an important leadership role in trying to advance this idea forward, and now is the time we would like to come together again and strategize on how best to move this idea forward into reality.
