Despite recent legal victories, the NYPD’s stop-and-frisk tactics remain a major concern. Evidence suggests that similar practices abound in Westchester and surrounding counties. In addition, the use of excessive force by law enforcement has resulted in unnecessary deaths, highlighting the need for reform of police practices and the institution of independent oversight of law enforcement agencies.
