Move On Training

I’m the MoveOn Regional Organizer for Westchester, the Mid-Hudson Valley and Central New York, and work extensively with Marjorie Morales, who forwarded your contact information to me. I’m really excited about our Training Summit, which will be over Saturday, November 16, and Sunday, November 17th in New York City, in no small measure because we’re opening it up to members of allied and partner organizations like yours. I hope you will socialize the event with your members!

 
This training event will be of benefit to experienced organizers, but is also designed to engage folks who may not yet be committed activists. We will help attendees develop their own story of self, craft a powerful petition to enlist others in support of a cause, and ultimately, build an effective campaign.  
 
There is no cost to attend the training, which is expected to run from 9 am to 5 pm each day. Though we are local, travel scholarships are available should they be required.   • Finding your issue and telling your story – You’ll learn about important progressive issues in your area and develop your powerful personal story about why you want to make a difference.
  • Developing your strategy and creating your petition – You’ll create a compelling progressive message for your campaign and create an exciting petition to launch.
  • Building and engaging your base – You’ll learn how to grow your petition and mobilize your signers to take action.
  • Engaging your target and turning up the heat – You’ll learn how to deliver your petition, get press coverage and turn up the heat on your target.
