Mount Vernon FAMILIES FOR JUSTICE DEMAND JUSTICE FOR LIVES LOST TO SENSELESS VIOLENCE IN MOUNT VERNON

Mt. Vernon Officials Need To Stop Their Unprofessional Foolishness Where People’s Lives Are Impacted, Not Them!

Mount Vernon, NY,  – Family of victims, Community Leaders, Concerned Youth, Concerned Residents, Faith Leaders and Black Law Enforcement will gather and stand together on the steps of City Hall, Saturday, February 11th at 1:00 P.M. to demand justice for the loved ones who were killed on the streets of Mount Vernon and their murders have gone unsolved.

“Mt Vernon has become immune to death, like a third-world country,” says Nazarean Duncan, mother of Wilbert “Junior” Francis who was shot 13 times and killed June 10, 2016

Homicides in Mount Vernon jumped from two in 2015 to eleven in 2016 with at least six of them still unsolved and family members in the dark about the investigation into the death of their lost loved one. Justice for all the unsolved homicides, a well-trained homicide unit, better support for the families and the need of Commissioners that understand police concepts and methods to keep our community safe, top the list of demands that will be announced at the rally.

“Stop playing politics with our family and our lost loved ones and give us justice,” says Wilfred Dennis, brother of Kyle “Skeet” Dennis who was murdered at Arts on Third, Sunday, Sept. 18, 2016

In addition to family members Nazarean Duncan (Mother of Junior) and Wilfred and Linda Dennis (brother & sister of Skeet), other speakers will include: Dr. Minister Hafeez Muhammad (Student Minister of Mosque #7 in Harlem), Charles Billips (Grand Council of Guardians), Rev. Jeffrey R. Wheeler (Pastor of Mt Calvary CME – The Promise Church), Retired Det. Anthony Mitchell (MVPD Former Deputy Police Commissioner), Damon K. Jones (NY Rep of BLEA-Blacks In Law Enforcement of America)
