Making a Killing: Guns, Greed and the NRA

May 4, 2016 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

I am a co-chair of the Outreach Committee of the Scarsdale Congregational Church (SCC) and also the co-chair of the SCC’s Interfaith Coalition Against Gun Violence (ICAGV) (our previous name was the SCC Task Force Against Gun Violence).

The ICAGV is hosting a screening of a new documentary, “Making a Killing: Guns, Greed, and the NRA,” on Wednesday, May 4th at 7:00 p.m. in the SCC’s Parish Hall, at 1 Heathcote Road.  A discussion after the film will be led by Leah Gunn Barrett, Executive Director of New Yorkers Against Gun Violence.  Light refreshments will be served, the event is free, and there is parking across from the church.  All are welcome.

“Making a Killing,” directed by Robert Greenwald, tells the stories of how guns, and the billions made from the sale of them, affect the lives of everyday Americans.  It features personal stories from people across the country who have been  affected by gun violence, including survivors and victims’ families.  The film looks into gun tragedies that include unintentional shootings, domestic violence, suicides, mass shootings and trafficking – and what we can do to address this crisis.  Here’s a link to a trailer of the film: http://www.bravenewfilms.org/mak_feature  .

For more information, feel free to contact me or call the church office at (914) 723-2111.

Thank you so much.
