As we approach a week of festivities and family gatherings, let us not forget those who are unable to be with family members and loved ones at this time.

Under Sandy’s leadership with the Antiracist Alliance, WESPAC has received the names of 500 inmates at Sing Sing prison. We are encouraged to write uplifting notes to them at this holiday time, perhaps mentioning that folks are reading Michelle Alexander’s The New Jim Crow and learning about the injustices of mass incarceration, but also a positive note that we are organizing for change.

Please let me know if you would be willing to write 20 cards. We have the names and holiday cards here in the office. You would just need to write them and stamp them. I can help with postage costs if that is a burden for you. We will be gathering at WESPAC for a collective letter writing session on Monday, December 28th at 3pm.
