Join the Westchester Social Justice Community for its weekly gathering in White Plains. This week we’ll be featuring speakers, including Majority Leader Catherine Borgia, who will discuss paid sick leave legislation pending in the Westchester Board of Legislators. The law would apply to businesses with more than five employees and it would mirror the legislation that passed in New York City. Over 30% of employees in Westchester do not have paid sick leave. It is a sensible law that enables ill workers, including school bus drivers and some food service workers, to take care of themselves and to prevent those they come in contact with from getting ill.
