How We Win the Fight
Against Medicaid Cuts

Tuesday, April 22, 2025
7:30-9:00 PM EST via Zoom

All are welcome. Closed Captions will be provided.

Dear Nada,

The Conservative movement has always wanted to cut Medicaid (as well as social security and Medicare), but the situation is more dire than ever. The current federal administration has narrow Republican margins in the House and Senate which they’re hoping to use to push through $800 Billion in cuts to Medicaid funding. Rather than addressing fraud, as claimed by the administration, these cruel and deadly cuts will strip away over 90% of the funding for the entire Medicaid program, decimating it. There is also a risk of additional restrictions on individual eligibility and State flexibility.

Gutting Medicaid like this would be devastating for everyone living in the United States, including New Yorkers. There are 7 million New Yorkers on Medicaid, including 44% of all children ages 0-18%, 25% of all Adults ages 19-64 and 64% of nursing home residents. Many of our most vulnerable community members; children, people with disabilities, seniors, and people with very low income, will be harmed. New Yorkers, especially constituents in Republican House districts, must rise up to demand no cuts to Medicaid.

In our April forum, we will hear directly from impacted individuals and groups active in the fight to Stop the Cuts. We will share calls to actions and provide tools you can use during the forum and afterwards in order to fight back and Save Medicaid.
