Join us for this first performance of Britten’s War Requiem in the Cathedral since the 1990s under Kurt Masur. Over 350 choral singers, full symphony orchestra, organ and soloists gather will perform Benjamin Britten’s epic musical invocation of the perils of war. The traditional text of the Requiem Mass is interspersed with the poetry of Wilfred Owen, who himself perished in the Great War of a century ago. We mark that centennial with this performance.
