From Slave to Criminal with One Amendment: Film Screening 13th

Wednesday, March 22nd at 6pm at the Greenburgh Library

300 Tarrytown Road in Elmsford, NY

13th is a 2016 American documentary by director Ava DuVernay. The film explores the “intersection of race, justice and mass incarceration in the United States;” it is titled after the Thirteenth Amendment to the United States Constitution, which freed the slaves and prohibited slavery (unless as punishment for a crime).

Co-sponsors include the White Plains/Greenburgh Chapter of the NAACP, WESPAC and Indivisible Westchester – Rivertowns.
Discussion after the film screening will be facilitated by Mayo Bartlett,esq and Guisela Marroquin, Regional Organizer with NYCLU
