Gonzalo Martinez de Vedia is a Human Trafficking Specialist with the Worker Justice Center of NY, investigating labor and sex trafficking. As Coordinator for the North Country and Capital Region Human Trafficking Task Forces, he facilitates inter-agency work in trafficking cases statewide.
Gonzalo is also Policy Co-Chair for Freedom Network USA, and a Human Rights Commissioner for the County of Ulster. Previously, he served the outreach and advocacy missions of the Cornell Farmworker Program, the Rural and Migrant Ministry, and the Coalition of Immokalee Workers. He holds a BA cum laude from Cornell University, where he was Founding President of the Immigrant Farmworker Initiative.
Ken Migliorelli is the 3rd Generation Owner of family-run Migliorelli Farm in Dutchess County. Ken and his team produce 130 varieties of fruits and vegetables, and rely in part on migrant labor. In 1998, he sold all developing rights of his farm through a Scenic Hudson conservation easement in order that it remain protected farmland in perpetuity and as such, provide wholesome foods (and views) for the local community, greenmarkets down stream all the way down to NYC, for generations to come. Ken offers a farmer’s perspective on the complex forces that hinder the advancement of farm workers’ rights in NYS.
Angel Morales is a Steering Committee Member
of the Student/Farmworker Alliance (SFA), which works as an ally to the Coalition of Immokalee Workers (CIW). Angel has helped organize a variety of efforts related to fair food along the east coast from Florida to NYC.Angel is also a member of New York Fair Food and the WESPAC Food Justice Committee. Originally from Caracas, Venezuela, Angel has spent recent years in Westchester County. He is a Manhattanville College graduate, active in The Connie Hogarth Center for Social Action. He currently works at the Open Door Family Medical Center in Ossining.
Wilson Chang is an all around naturalist, having vast and varied experience farming. He is currently involved with County-owned Hilltop Hanover Farm in Yorktown, as well as a friend’s start-up farm in Ridgefield, CT, the Dancing Dog Farm.
