with John Sheehan, Social Worker
Sunday, Sept. 27, 1pm
Reidy Friendship Hall
All Souls Unitarian Church
1157 Lexington Avenue @ 80 Street
New York, New York 10075
You are invited to hear John Sheehan, social worker and head of our
Outreach Information Systems talk about the devastating effects Mass
Incarceration has had on our country and on many of our guests at Monday
Night Hospitality and Friday Soup Kitchen. John will focus on how we as a
community can help people adjust to leaving prison through our meal
programs and beyond.
John is a social worker with 35 years’ experience and a graduate of Adelphi
University with advanced training from NYU. He has extensive experience
working with substance abusers, people with AIDS and the Homeless. A focus
of his clinical work has been on the Criminal Justice System, including
work at Riker’s Island. After becoming disabled with MS in 2006, he has
done extensive volunteer work at the MS Society and started volunteering at
the All Souls Meal programs.
