You are invited to join ARTE for the opening of the Drones Quilt Project traveling exhibition in Brooklyn to learn about the use of art to bring attention to the thousands of deaths caused by U.S. combat missiles. The exhibit opens on Wednesday, June 7th at 6:30pm and will feature veteran and activist speakers, Nick Mottern and Chris Antal.Event Info & Registration: bit.ly/2rdG1TL
The Drones Quilt Project is a way to raise awareness about the illegal and immoral use of combat drones by the United States, and to memorialize those killed by them. Quilts on display were made by individuals from around the world to commemorate the civilian victims of weaponized drone strikes in Somalia, Yemen, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Iraq, and other countries.
If you are not able to attend our opening, but would like to see this exhibition, we will have open house hours during selected dates in June and July. E-mail marissa@artejustice.org directly to schedule a private viewing. We will attempt to accommodate schedules on a case-by-case basis.
Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns. Attached is the poster to share with your networks – all are welcome to attend. Thank you in advance!
Sincerely,
