The New York Early Mail Voter Act
This bill will create a permanent vote by mail option in New York. By giving voters more opportunities to vote in a secure, safe, and accessible way, this bill will increase voter turnout in New York– especially among harder to reach populations like young voters and voters of color.
Call Governor Hochul using the Let NY Vote coalition line: 833-345-2553. When connected, listen to the recording and then press 2 to speak to a staff member. Tell the staffer that Governor Hochul should sign the New York Early Mail Voter Act to create a permanent vote by mail option for all New Yorkers without delay!
The Save the Hudson Bill
This bill prohibits dumping of radioactive wastewater from Indian Point into the Hudson River. Holtec, the company that is decommissioning the nuclear power plant, proposes to begin dumping radioactive wastewater late this summer. Call Governor Hochul at 866-696-8249 and tell her to sign the bill! Give your name and hometown and tell the governor you are expecting her to sign this bill. Sign the petition to urge Hochul to sign the bill too.
Rally: Join Save the Hudson activists outside Cortlandt Town Hall on Tuesday to urge the governor to sign the bill immediately! After the rally, advocates will head into the Decommissioning Oversight Board meeting, which will be holding a public hearing on how to decommission Indian Point and what to do with the radioactive waste.
