Cooking Up Community with Chef Green

Westchester Martin Luther King Jr. Institute for Nonviolence:

We at MLKI are thrilled to announce an exciting opportunity for the youth in our community. In collaboration with Break Bread not Hearts, the Westchester MLKI Institute is offering a hands-on cooking experience called “Cooking Up Community,” led by Chef Green, also known as Chef D’Amour.

This program focuses on teaching participants how to create healthy and delicious meals, highlighting the importance of enhancing wellbeing through the foods we eat. Participants will gain insights into the origins of our food, its benefits for our bodies, and the ways food unites us as a community.

Program Details:

  • Cost: Free
  • When: Every Wednesday in September from 4:30 PM to 6:30 PM
  • Where: Thomas H. Slater Center, 2 Fisher Ct, White Plains, NY 10601 (Corner of Dr. MLK Blvd. and Quarropas St)
  • Ages: K-12th grade
