OUR SPEAKERS, Alan Levine, a civil and human rights lawyer, and Donna Nevel, a community psychologist and educator, are long-time organizers against anti-Muslim and anti-Arab prejudice. Levine has worked with and represented members of the Muslim community who have faced discrimination. Nevel is co-author, with Elly Bulkin, of a series of articles on Islamophobia. Both are founding members of the Jews against Islamophobia Coalition. The speakers will discuss the intersections and connections among different forms of anti-Muslim discrimination and related issues of civil rights and free speech. They will also address strategies for organizing against Islamophobia.
