Afghanistan Arts and Culture Day

Over the last year ArtsW’s Folk & Traditional Arts Program has been working in close collaboration with Hearts & Homes for Refugees and leaders in Westchester’s Afghan refugee community. Together, this Saturday Feb. 24th, in White Plains, NY, we’ll be presenting a family-friendly Afghanistan arts & culture fair (2-5PM) as well as a concert performance (8-9:30PM) featuring the incredible Heart of Afghanistan Ensemble. Ahmad Fanoos, the ensemble’s leader, is a major figure in Afghan popular and traditional music, and has an incredible story of family separation and reunion to share. There are very few opportunities to hear live Afghan folk and traditional music in the US, so I wanted to make sure this was on your radar. I would greatly appreciate it if you might consider sharing info about the upcoming program with your network. Please find flyers attached and below.
