A Ride to Remember: A Civil Rights Story

A free online program on Saturday afternoon September 26, at 3:45, courtesy of the Larchmont Public Library, for young people from kindergarten through fifth or sixth grade — a reading of a picture book that tells a civil rights story that can help youngsters connect with some of the events that are going on now.
This picture book, A RIDE TO REMEMBER, tells the civil rights story behind the Carousel on the National Mall and the good that can happen when people — young and old — come together to right a terrible wrong. There are art materials that will be available, prepared by our wonderful illustrator, Floyd Cooper, that can give young people a chance to engage with the story and its message after the program is over.
