Divest NY Lobby Day!

Divest NY has led the successful campaigns to get both the NYC and NYS pension funds to divest. On March 11, we will focus on getting co-sponsors for our new Teachers Fossil Fuel Divestment Act (S4783), which targets the New York State Teachers’ Retirement System (NYSTRS), the last big public pension fund in the state that has not yet divested. Please join us and help make a difference!

For those who have never lobbied before, here is a chance to learn. Everyone will be assigned to a team with an experienced leader. You choose whether to attend the full day or part of the day. We have:
AM shifts from 9 to 12:30 (with one half hour break)
PM shifts from 1:30 to 5 (with one half hour break)
All days from 9 to 5 (with three half hour breaks)
(and you can always take an extra break if you need it!)
For students and teachers: we want you there! So if your schedule doesn’t fit the times above, let us know what it is and we’ll try our best to accommodate you!
