Invitation
International Conference for Korea Peace
2018 was a year of peace breeze in the Korean peninsula. The inter-Korean summits were held and the following Panmunjeom Declaration in April and Pyongyang Declaration in September have impressed peace-loving global citizens.
The US and DPRK summit was also held in Singapore and it was promised that the two countries will establish new relations, peace regime in the Korean peninsula and complete denuclearization in the Korean peninsula through June 12 Joint Declaration in Singapore. The people in the Korean peninsula victimized by the war and national division have enthusiastically supported these joint declarations, and endeavored to achieve peace, prosperity and reunification of two Koreas.
However, after one year has passed, we observe today the US-DPRK talks are still in stalemate since there is no visible achievements after the summit. The confrontation and conflict of the two countries have repeated over time, the challenges of peace-threatening forces are still intact.
We have emphasized repeatedly that the basic problem threatening peace in the Korean peninsula lies in the US’ long-lasting hostile policies towards DPRK. The US must come back to the spirit of June 2018 Singapore summit and should release blockade and oppressive measures against N. Korea, making efforts to normalize relations. As the result of such processes, we ensure that the stable peace regime as well as denuclearization can be achieved.
Peace means a universal human right and the basic fundamentals of human life. The war and division of the Korean peninsula should be ended as soon as possible.
As we have reached significant agreements between two Koreas, US and North Korea, we see the aspiration of severing the tragedy of war and division is higher than ever. We would like to consolidate supports and solidarity from international communities not only from North, South and overseas Korean communities by holding “The International Conference for Korea Peace” at this critical turning-point of history finally putting end to the Korean war and division. We will deliver the collective opinions and demands gathered in the conference to the United Nations and the US government.
We appreciate your efforts to achieve world peace and cordially invite you to participate in our peace conference.
