magazine “Hero of the Planet.” As Hudson Riverkeeper, he was involved in
enforcement actions against more than 100 polluters. He has also worked as a
congressional and state legislative aide, a lobbyist, commercial fisherman
and writer.
John is a senior fellow at Pace and Clarkson Universities, where his focus
is on the ecological and human injustices caused by the failure of our
environmental laws to deliver on their promise of clean water. Said John,
“In the 21st century, clean water is as fundamental a right as race,
expression, religion, age and gender. Without it, our freedoms and our way
of life are profoundly compromised.”
