Dr. Nirit Ben Ari received her Ph.D. in Political Science from the Graduate Center of the City University of New York and has taught in universities in New York and Israel. She worked at the News Desk at Israel’s Channel 10 and is a regular contributor to Haaretz newspaper. She has been a political activist for over a decade in New York and in Israel. Nirit will address current political trends in Israel and the climate in the media, activist circles, and human rights organizations and will focus on the situation facing asylum seekers, the Bedouins of the Negev, and the Occupied Territories.
