Stand with Bradley Manning

 

Hello All – We have just learned that Bradley Manning, America’s whistleblower, will be sentenced tomorrow, Wednesday, at 10 a.m.

 

Government/military prosecutors are asking the judge to sentence Manning to 60 years in prison.

 

Concerned Families of Westchester will join hundreds of communities across the country in holding a support/solidarity rally for Bradley Manning on Wednesday, August 21, from 5 to 6:30 p.m., at the VFW Park in Hastings.  Please stand up for Bradley Manning by joining us!

 

No matter what sentence the judge hands down, the fight for Bradley Manning’s freedom will continue.  An immediate demand is that President Obama should pardon Manning.

 

Why a pardon?  What Manning did in transmitting State Department and other information to the world’s media was to alert Americans about criminal activity and corruption in US relations with other countries.  We believe that Manning was obliged to do what he did in upholding his oath to support the Constitution.  In releasing information about crimes committed by senior military officers and others during wartime, Manning was an agent of justice, not a lawbreaker.
