Dear Allies,
We are in a critical phase of the campaign to STOP the STAMP Monster Data Center. And the outrages keep piling up. Yesterday, we learned that STREAM US Data Centers and their financial backer Apollo Global Management have submitted a new request for financial incentives for their proposed massive data center complex.
They are asking for $1.44 billion dollars in taxpayer subsidies. $11.5 million per job.
No, that is not a typo. That’s really BILLION with a B. We’ve run out of words to describe our outrage and disgust. We just say NO. NO, NO, NO.
So today, we are asking you to commit to taking action in the next few weeks. To voice your opposition to STAMP developer GCEDC and to STREAM and Apollo. To join the powerful movement of local residents who are showing up in solidarity with the Tonawanda Seneca Nation to fight and defeat this monstrosity: to protect their communities and our shared environment and collective well-being.
Here’s what we’re asking you to do:
-
Commit to submitting a written comment on the data center application and requested financial incentives by the March 31 deadline. RSVP today, and we’ll send you suggested talking points and all the logistical details by March 18.
-
If you can, JOIN US in person. Make or read a comment at the public hearing: March 19 at 7pm at the Town of Alabama Fire Hall. RSVP today and we’ll send you all the info you need. Can’t attend in person? Help spread the word and join the livestream.
-
Join Allies of TSN for our next Statewide Campaign Call on the Campaign to STOP the STAMP Monster Data Center: March 17 from 6-7:30pm on zoom. We’ll go over all the details for the March 19 public hearing and how to submit a written comment.
-
Save the Date! We need allies to turn out in force at the next GCEDC Board of Directors Meeting: March 26 at 5pm at the MedTech Center in Batavia.
-
Do you live, work, or recreate in the GLOW Region? We want to know so that we can share additional calls to action. Email us or call / text at (585) 300-4925.

Finally, in case you missed it, a lot has happened with Plug Power in the last several weeks. Read our takeaways here, then read Dale Shoemaker’s piece from today: Massive Plug Power project at STAMP officially dead.
