Dignity at Life’s End: Thursday, November 21st from 10am to 12 noon
November 21 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm
How the NYS Legislature Can Promote Autonomy and Respect for Families at the End of Life
What: A public forum to foster a robust discussion about the 5 bills mentioned above that promote dignity at life’s end, before the NYS Legislature returns to Albany.
When: Thursday, November 21 from 10 am – 12 pm
Why: Several important bills that address the needs of New Yorkers facing the end of their lives stalled during the 2024 NYS legislative session, including NY’s Medical Aid in Dying Act. In response to questions from the press about the failure of the measure to move,
Senate Majority Leader Andrea Stewart-Cousins told Politico: “I believe this is a robust discussion, and obviously, we’re not there yet. It’s a matter of information. It’s a matter of education, and then we get to see if we can actually do things that change life for the better.”
