This year we will be writing letters on behalf of ten human rights defenders globally, including Uncle Paul and Uncle Pabai from Australia’s Torres Strait Islands who are protecting their ancestral land from climate change devastation. Maung, Rohingya from Myanmar living in a Bangladesh refugee camp, is challenging Facebook to pay reparations for amplifying violence. Ana Maria Santos Cruz from Brazil is seeking justice for the death of her peace activist son, Pedro Henrique. Write with us to demand justice for them and others.
If you attend in person, we will provide sample letters, letter-writing paper, pens, and envelopes for you to hand write letters and we will mail your letters.
If participating on Zoom, please be ready with paper, a pen, and envelopes. We will provide sample letters. You can mail your letters or we can arrange for us to mail them for you.
We will also provide a tally sheet so you can report your letters with our Amnesty Mid-Hudson chapter.
Writing letters to free human rights defenders works! Write a letter, impact a life!
We hope to see you there! Come for a little while to write one letter or stay longer to write all letters. Contact Diana at
