To: Nada Khader <[email protected]>
Hi Nada,
I hope you’re doing well. We are organizing this in-person popular education training with the national ACLU campaign staff. I’m writing to invite you to our training and ask if you could forward our invitation to others in your network. The ACLU has held this training in 9 states with swing seats in the midterm elections. We are focused on building volunteer capacity in District 17 — Hudson Valley, Westchester, and Rockland counties, and we hope this training will complement your work in the district.
We are in the fight of a lifetime to protect our rights, our civil liberties, and the future of our democracy. The Trump administration is working every day to silence us, roll back our freedoms, and consolidate power – but we’re not backing down.
That’s why we’re launching the Power & Purpose Training, a one-day high-impact training designed to equip people like you with the real skills to fight back and organize for change.
This training is for people who are ready to turn their outrage into action. If you’re afraid or frustrated by the direction of our country and want to know how to get involved, this is your answer. Take our training and gain the tools to organize for change.
Power & Purpose Training
Date: Saturday, Sept 27
Time: 9:30am – 4:30pm
Location: Beacon, NY (exact location shared closer to date)
RSVP NOW: https://act.aclu.org/a/beaconpoped]
At our training, you’ll learn how to:
- Organize within your community using proven tools
- Have effective, persuasive conversations that move people to action
- Connect with others who are fired up and ready to fight for our shared future
Movements don’t build themselves – people do. This training will equip you with the tools to lead, organize, and build real power. You’ll join a budding nationwide network of leaders across the country just like you, who are ready to rise to the moment.
This is a free event with limited space. The only requirement is for you to commit to the full day and, in the spirit of the training, to bring someone with you. As such, we’re asking every participant to sign up at least one friend, family member, or colleague. Organizing is relational – and the path forward depends on all of us.
Spots are limited and will be determined on a first-come, first-served basis, so sign up today to be the first to receive event details. RSVP HERE:

Many thanks, and in solidarity,
Mabel
