I’m writing to our friends who are in the labor movement, progressives and/or in the healthcare field.
 
Lenox Hill Hospital/Northwell Health is playing hardball with their nurses union during negotiations, a strike may be imminent.  They have recently brought in a number of travel nurses who may well be used as scabs if there is a strike.   As many of you know, our daughter is a union delegate there and was part of the previous negotiating committee, she’s already told her colleagues that she guarantees her mom (who was an 1199 delegate herself) and dad (a former council leader for NY State Public Employees Federation) will be on the picket line with them.  Let’s hope that Lenox Hill management comes to its senses before it comes to that.
