Will you stand with us in solidarity to demand an end to New York’s excessive sentencing laws? RSVP here. Join Communities Not Cages New York to help shed a light on the crisis of New York’s racist and unjust sentencing laws. Mass incarceration must end! Right now, New York State has the third largest population of people serving terms of life imprisonment in the country. Over 30,000 of our loved ones, neighbors and friends are incarcerated in state prisons. Between 1994 and 2014, the national number of people in prison who had served more than 15 years increased 526%. The number of people in prison for 25 years or longer increased over 5,000%! Together, we'll demand the end of prejudicial and unjust sentencing laws and call for passage of the Marvin Mayfield Act (S.6471/A.2036A), Second Look Act (S.321/A.531), and Earned Time Act (S.774/A.1128).RSVP here to join us on December 11 to demand the end of prejudicial and unjust sentencing laws. If you'd like to help spread the word, you can share the attached graphic Pass #CommunitiesNotCages. We are conducting the Westchester rally on December 11th at 12-1pm in Ossining in the parking lot of Hudson Link For Higher Education. In solidarity,Mujahideen Communities Not Cages New York

Dear Nada,On Nov. 14, Con Edison, the City of Mt. Vernon, and NY League of Conservation Voters will give an introductory presentation at the Doles Recreation Center at 6:30 pm for a utility thermal network proposal. Please see the attached flyer in jpg and pdf. A Utility Thermal Network is the most efficient and cost-effective way of heating and cooling buildings. With the help of Con Edison and the City of Mt. Vernon, some residents of the city may have an opportunity to enroll in a pilot project that will upgrade the participating residents' heating, cooling, and hot water systems to a thermal network at no cost to them. These residents would enjoy lower utility bills and safer, more comfortable, and pollution-free heating and cooling. Scaling up such networks will eventually pay a huge role in cutting greenhouse has and co-pollutant emissions from New York's building sector, which is currently the largest source of such emissions in the state.Thank you!Anshul--Anshul Gupta (he/him)Policy & Research Director, New Yorkers for Clean Power[email protected]201-357-0794
