WESPAC Hosts an Evening of Solidarity with IFCO

On June 16th at 6pm, WESPAC will hold a solidarity potluck at the Mapleton Conference Center (52 North Broadway in White Plains located at Good Counsel) in support of the 25th annual Caravan to Cuba organized by the Interreligious Foundation for Community Organization/Pastors for Peace.  The project has been challenging the US blockade of Cuba for decades by carrying educational, medical and other supplies through the United States into Mexico and then to Cuba.  For many years, Margaret Eberle led WESPAC’s participation in the Caravans.

IFCO is currently under attack by the US government, mainly for serving as the fiscal sponsor of the “Viva Palestina” convoy to Gaza in 2009.  The WESPAC event will raise funds for IFCO’s defense.  If you are unable to attend but would like to support this endeavor, please send an earmarked contribution to WESPAC online or in the mail.
