Dear partners:

We are looking at getting a bus for Immigrants Day of Action in Albany March 1 that would leave from somewhere in Hudson Valley (perhaps 2 locations?)

For those who haven’t participated in this Day of Action previously, it is the 14th annual event organized by the NY Immigration Coalition where hundreds of immigrant New Yorkers, allies and activists go to Albany to present our communities’ priorities to elected officials. There are legislative visits, programs, rallies, a march and this year, cultural performances.

We are also working with NYIC on a bus sponsor, as well as holding an Advocacy Institute training in Feb. here in the HV (instead of NYC) to help train new advocates to prepare for meetings with legislators. Attached fyi is a flyer and a list of the likely budget and policy priorities for March 1.

Could you please reply to this email to me and cc’s (Norma and Steve) letting us know if you are interested in

1)      reserving spaces on a bus

2)      sending people to an advocacy training in February (in the Hudson Valley ), or

3)      bringing a cultural performance (music, dance etc.)

Any questions please let us know. Also please forward to any who might be interested.

Thank you very much for your input.
