TOXIC GAS DRILLING TOURS OF CHEMUNG COUNTY

Sunday August 15, 2010,  at 3:00pm

We will meet at the corner of Route 14 and Wygant Road in Horseheads, New York (Dandy Mini Mart) to begin our tour.  Look for the NO FRACK SIGNS.

THE FIRST IN A SERIES OF CUSTOM TOXIC GAS DRILLING TOURS.

DO NOT MISS THIS UNIQUE FIRST HAND VIEW OF THIS DIRTY AND DANGEROUS  INDUSTRY GETTING STARTED RIGHT HERE IN CHEMUNG COUNTY.

BE ONE OF THE FIRST TO TRULY UNDERSTAND HOW GAS DRILLING WILL WORK, LOOK, AND EFFECT OUR ENVIRONMENT,OUR WATER,COMMUNITIES AND NEIGHBORS FOR DECADES TO COME!

YOU WILL NOT WANT TO MISS THESE HIGHLIGHTS WITH LIVE NARRATION AS WE STOP ALONG THE WAY.

THE ATTRACTIONS LISTED BELOW ARE REAL AND NOT SIMULATIONS.

1.  Horseheads Holding Point is the main distribution center for gas drilling machines, parts, and materials. You
will not want to miss this relic of World War II.  The Horseheads Holding Point has become the staging area
and distribution center for gas drilling supplies and materials, it is a “cathedral for frackers”.

2.  Visit a REAL WORKING hydrofracking operation, “Bronco Rig 11”.  See the enormous, ugly structure ravage
the Chemung County landscape.  Smell the fumes, hear the noise, and feel the fear.  Paris might have the
Eiffel Tower, but we can offer curious pilgrims a peak at this tall, toxic, penetrating monster.

3.  Visit Talisman Energy Corporation, an outspoken celebrity in the gas drilling industry and big player in our local
toxic, gas drilling industry.   It is located in the new industrial park at 337 Daniel Zenker Drive, Horseheads,
New York607-562-4063 .  See the regional headquarters for this gas drilling Goliath!  (A Talisman
representative recently told me, “We’re are too big to be stopped!”)  Talisman is featured in numerious
violations in Pa.*(65) and I’m sure you’re familiar with seeing their name in the papers for violations and fines.

4.   New York State Soil and Water Conservation District Office.

5.   Kaplan’s Scrap Yard features railroad cars of fracking sand from Ohio being unloaded into trucks from Texas
The sand laden trucks leave the railroad yard headed for fracking pads in PA.  Workers on the site said they
are loading the sand in trucks to be pumped into the ground. (Of course we know, millions of gallons of water
mixed with toxic cancer causing chemicals at 16,000 psi. on fracking pads are mixed with this sand.)  This is a
marvel of the efficiency of our rail transportation system!  You won’t want to miss it!

6.  Chemung Canal Bank is one of the oldest and most respected banks in our region.  Chemung Canal Bank has
sponsored pro gas drilling meetings in our region and is marketing its ability to invest dirty money in the form of
gas checks. This will only be a drive by.  We are happy to wait if someone wants to withdraw all of their money
     from Chemung Canal Bank.

7.  We are approaching a dangerous area.  Lowman, New York toxic industrial waste dump is operated by
Casella Mondays through Fridays.Big trucks are on a narrow road so go slow and watch for trucks. Lock your doors and roll up your windows. Toxic gas drilling waste that is radioactive, laced with dangerous heavy  metals and organic, carcinogenic solvents and other unknown materials are now being dumped here.
This open toxic dump is located a short distance directly uphill from the Chesapeake Bay watershed.  This is
an impending ecological disaster. You might have heard of the Love Canal, but Casella and the Chemung
County Legislature bring you the Lowman Toxic Waste Dump, the most outrageous feature on your tour.
Land Fill –right here in Chemung County.  This is a Toxic Waste Site you won’t want to miss!   LOOK OUT
BELOW Chesapeake Bay!  PA. gas drilling toxic waste is coming!  On a clear day you might even be lucky
     enough to see it coming!

8.  Lowman,  NY is also a fresh pure water gas drilling tanker loading site!   See the large pumps and pipes that
run under the road as out of state licensed tanker trucks(Texas) suck up hundreds of thousands of gallons of
pure water to be used and polluted at hydrofracking sites in our region.  Sometimes you can talk to the truck
drivers as they fill their trucks with pure water for fracking. This can be one of the interactive portions of our
tour if we get lucky and the tanker trucks are there,  we can talk to the drivers!

9.  Chemung County Executive Tom Santulli, 1528 West Water St. Elmira, New York 607-733-1098 supports
toxic waste dumping in Lowman. Tom Santulli is convinced that money the county now receives in exchange
for toxic industrial waste from PA fracking operations is a good deal for Chemung County.  Maybe Tom will be
home when we get there and he might even talk to us.  Tom can explain how polluted water, stressed roads,
elevated crime levels, and toxic waste dumping is a good deal for Chemung County and its valued citizens.
After all ,Tom Santulli is in charge. Tom’s home obviously is not the White House but it is worth a “look-see”
where this important county leader resides.  I wonder where Tom gets his drinking water.

Approximate touring time is two hours.

The tour is subject to change at anytime depending on weather and any important newly discovered sites.
Tours will be conducted “caravan style” in your own cars following me and following all laws and safety regulations.

All tours include (at no charge) a glass of pure drinking water from the tap before it’s ruined by hydrofracking, and an optional discussion and question session with an informative gas drilling video.

Today is our first gas drilling tour so you won’t want to miss the maiden voyage.

And the best thing about our tours… is that they are free (and scary) for all ages!

Hope we see you today!

Steve Gibbs.
