City of Mount Vernon Youth Bureau

The City of Mount Vernon Youth Bureau is seeking a part time youth
development worker for a grant funded, after-school and community-based
program at Mount Vernon High School. Successful candidates must have a good
knowledge of the underlying principles of youth development and growth;
experience in handling typical problems and needs of youth; working
knowledge of the community agencies providing youth services; the ability to
communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Hours of operation will
be between 1 ­ 6 pm, Mon ­ Fri, flexible evenings & Saturdays

Part-time Project Coordinator: Coordinates, plans and schedules after-
school activities for high school students which include but are not limited
to educational, and recreational workshops; job readiness skills training;
special functions such as awards dinners and field trips; recruitment of
youth and volunteers; performs ongoing evaluation of the various activities
by monitoring enrollment, gathering feedback from the volunteers and the
youths involved; interfaces with school personnel, consultants and parents;
maintains all confidential program records and files; completes required
reports; attends community meetings. Requirements: Bachelor¹s Degree or
Associates Degree in education, business, social work, recreation or a
related field plus 1 years experience in administering youth programs.
