Specific Education, Certification and Skill Requirements (if applicable):
Highly motivated, self-starter with strong organizational and public
speaking skills, and commitment to advocating for the rights of victims
of crime. Background in social justice, criminal justice,
women’s issues, and/or counseling. Experience providing supervision
a plus. BA required, Masters preferred or equivalent experience.
Computer literate; licensed driver and car owner. Persons of
color and members of LGBTQ communities are encouraged to apply.
Job Description:
Site Director’s responsibilities include: the provision of direct services
to victims of crime; to supervise other staff at site; be responsible
for the maintenance and functioning of site and community
outreach. Direct services provided at VAS include: assistance in
applying for victim compensation; court accompaniment; supportive
counseling; safety planning; assistance locating shelters; advocacy
with multiple service providers to maximize the clients resources
and capacity to heal. Candidate should be interested in
being a part of a cohesive team, receiving regular supervision and
should be comfortable at networking and developing collaborations
with other agencies in the community.
