The Hunger Action Network is seeking a part-time organizer for a project in Westchester County.
The project coordinates work around economic security issues (health care, jobs, housing, income, welfare reform) in as part of the statewide Empire State Campaign (ES2). This includes working to improve the performance of the local Department of Social Services. It coordinates the work around at the federal and state level in New York. The project seeks to also mobilize and empower low-income residents.
The position is part time for $12 to $14 an hour, with partial benefits. Starts immediately.
We are seeking a person that already has experience working with social and economic justice groups in Westchester. At least one year prior experience with organizing is desirable. Ability to multi-task essential.
