Veda has decided to work half-time focusing on our community food work in NYC, so we are looking for a half time person to take over her work in Westchester.

The Hunger Action Network is seeking a part-time organizer for a project in Westchester County.

The project coordinates work around economic security issues (health care, jobs, housing, income, welfare reform) in Westchester as part of the statewide Empire State Economic Security Campaign (ES2). This includes working to improve the performance of the local Department of Social Services. It coordinates the work around single payer health care at the federal and state level in New York. The project seeks to also mobilize and empower low-income residents.

The position is part time for $12 to $14 an hour, with partial benefits. Starts immediately.

We are seeking a person that already has experience working with social and economic justice groups in Westchester. At least one year prior experience with organizing is desirable. Ability to multi-task essential.
