Dear Friends,

This is the fourth year that we commemorate the ongoing disaster at Fukushima. Nothing has improved there except the financial outlook for the company that owned the reactors,Tepco. The Japanese government bailed them out and they actually made a profit this year.

Whether it is Fukushima or Indian Point the starting place is the same – a uranium mine.  It is ugly, dirty business that does great harm to people and the land.  This year you have an opportunity to meet three young activists from out West who are fighting the mines, the mountains of radioactive tailings, and the contaminated water.  They are fighting for their people and their communities.

Clearwater is a sponsor of this event and Manna Jo Greene, Environmental Director, will be one of the panel members.  Manna is extraordinarily knowledgeable about replacement energy and the new NY plan –  the Revised Energy Vision or REV.

Please mark your calendars and pass this information on to any interested person.  There will be a second program in NYC on March 10.  Details to follow.
