Where does your garbage go? What is zero waste?

We all breathe what the Wheelabrator incinerator burns, especially the frontline Environmental Justice community of Peekskill, which is disproportionately impacted. Join us in the countywide discussion to address urgent questions and solutions to achieve environmental justice for Peekskill and cleaner air for everyone: Where does your garbage go? What are the environmental, health and climate impacts of burning trash? What does zero waste mean? What is Environmental Justice? What are the solution steps?

What: Westchester County is gathering together on Zoom to screen the short environmental justice film The Sacrifice Zone, and discuss ways to move us away from trash incineration and towards sustainable, zero waste alternatives. Join countywide experts in a discussion about achieving environmental justice for Peekskill, and cleaner air for everyone.
